Recognition for Outstanding Contribution to Young People

Beacon of Light School was proud to celebrate the achievement of staff member Chris, who received a Trust-wide award at the Extraordinary Us event hosted by Laidlaw Schools Trust.

The Extraordinary Us event brought together 800 educators, governors, trustees and central services staff from across the Trust. It served as a platform to celebrate the collective achievements of the LST community and to honour individuals who exemplify the Trust's core values.

Chris was recognised for his outstanding contribution to improving opportunities for young people and was nominated for his dedication, creativity and unwavering commitment to supporting student success both in and beyond the classroom.

A well-respected member of Team Beacon, Chris consistently goes the extra mile to engage students, build confidence and create inclusive pathways for achievement. His work reflects the school’s core values and aligns strongly with the Trust’s mission to close the education gap and improve life chances for all students.

The Extraordinary Us initiative, generously funded by the Laidlaw Foundation, aims to transform lives by extending the reach of education and enhancing whole-child development. It encompasses character skills development, welfare support and extraordinary experiences beyond the classroom.
